Needed to practice visual # analytics using # Tableau to keep up with this fabulous skill. Thought I'd make a fun visual about Los Angeles Animal Control Dog and Cat Outcomes since I heard summer is the season for overcrowding. This is better viewed on a laptop or desktop browser rather than on mobile. The amount of dogs peak in July because of July 4th. Many dogs are frightened by the fireworks, and run away from home. Unfortunately, many are not reunited to their owners and end up in shelters. Gentle reminder to make sure your dog is in a safe place - and if you are looking for a dog right now, many shelters have reduced price or free adoptions for the next few days. All of the LA County shelters and Orange County Animal care are having free or reduced price adoptions for my SoCal friends. :) Peak season for cats has historically been June, probably due to kitten season.
